  • Waiting 'Diablo 4'? Do not Worry,'Torchlight 3' Will Be Here

Diablo 4 is still years and years away. Despite some of Blizzard's recent missteps (like not releasing a new sport in years), I'm obviously looking forward to another sequel in what is my most-played video game series ever (probably 3,000 hours in total?). And it seems like something will have to Diablo IV Gold tide me over until D4 arrives.

That could be Godfall, the next-gen PC and PS5 match out this fall, a"looter-slasher" published by Gearbox. But if we are sticking with the familiar, that may prove to be Torchlight 3. Torchlight 3 is technically not a name, but rather a name and version change. Torchlight Frontiers was a game that has been in private alpha testing for some time now, and Runic Games has come out with an announcement about its own fate.

From this testing, the feedback they received, which they agreed with, was that Torchlight Frontiers turned and should be substituted to full-on Torchlight 3. This also comes with a model change, as Frontiers was likely to be a free-to-play MMORPG, but is now a"premium" pay-up-front title instead, which I doubt many gamers will fret about.

Back when Diablo was the primary ARPG its two main rivals were Torchlight and Path of Exile, two quite different takes on the exact same concept. I gravitated more toward Torchlight, since it felt much more rewarding and less complex than it had been to learn the intricacies of PoE, which I never got to. Suffice to say I'm extremely excited to find out what Torchlight 3 will be like, particularly with a turn into MMORPG land.
